Fulton House Transitional Housing Program

Fulton House is a transitional housing program located in Brooklyn, providing a safe and supportive environment for formerly homeless clients who are mentally ill or dually diagnosed as mentally ill and chemically addicted.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Residential Aide to join our team at Fulton House. The successful candidate will provide direct care and support to residents, assisting them in achieving their work, social, and community living goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol residence and report any observations leading to loss or damage of property
  • Monitor resident activities and act to restore order if needed
  • Make out reports as required
  • Act as escort for residents
  • Screen calls and visitors
  • Monitor the self-administration of medication
  • Complete incident reports in AWARDS
  • Prepare various reports and documents as needed
  • Assist with maintaining transition and facilities logs
  • Monitor roll call sheet
  • Wake clients in the morning
  • Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed
Requirements
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • One year of experience as a security guard or counselor for the mentally ill preferred
  • Bilingual, Spanish/English preferred
  • Valid drivers' license preferred
  • Basic computer literacy required
  • CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR
