Job Title: LPN Charge Nurse

At National Church Residences, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LPN Charge Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents.

Job Summary:

The LPN Charge Nurse is responsible for supervising and directing nursing care in compliance with facility policies and procedures. This includes making observations, reporting and recording observations, forming nursing judgments, and carrying out nursing actions based on an understanding of scientific principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct nursing care in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Make observations, report and record observations, form nursing judgments, and carry out nursing actions.
  • Follow established standards of nursing practices and assume responsibility for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform daily rounds, develop and implement comprehensive care plans based on each resident's needs, and follow established policies and procedures for passing medications and treatments.
  • Follow staffing guidelines, make nursing assignments, receive and give accurate reports on resident conditions, and monitor diets and supervise meal trays and snacks served to residents.
  • Follow facility admissions procedures, communicate admission to other departments, staff, physicians, and other service providers, and ensure employees follow the chain of command in a manner consistent with personnel policies.
  • Assign nursing assistants, ensure the efficient completion of their assignments, supervise, document, and correct poor performance, and keep Unit Managers/Director of Nursing informed on a timely basis of poor performance problems.
  • Participate in the performance evaluation process of nursing assistants, provide counseling, coaching, and training, and present performance evaluations to staff.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a vocational school of practical nursing.
  • One to two years of experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and the Internet.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current Nurse License.
