Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of buildings and mechanical systems to guarantee compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets, cleaning and repairing circuit breaker panels, and addressing any electrical issues.
  • Provide support in the installation, setup, and repair of ventilation, refrigeration, and other essential systems.
  • Ensure the optimal functionality of heating and plumbing systems through regular maintenance and repairs.
  • Inspect fire alarm and security systems, scheduling necessary repairs to maintain their effectiveness.
  • Perform manual repairs as needed, such as fixing locks, replacing windows, and addressing minor carpentry or painting tasks.
  • Implement pest control measures, including spraying insecticide where required.
  • Carry out general upkeep procedures, such as landscaping, and assist with other assigned tasks to maintain the overall cleanliness and functionality of our facilities.
  • Collaborate in budget preparation and diligently adhere to allocated funds for maintenance activities.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role.
  • A fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and best practices.
  • Familiarity with tools, common appliances, and devices used in maintenance tasks.
  • Strong manual dexterity and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent physical condition and the willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • A Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) designation is an asset.
