Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Progressive Care Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss patient progress and develop care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address these needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to these interventions.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including progress notes, medication lists, and other relevant information.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Stay current with advances in nursing practice and technology, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in New York State.
  • At least 1 year of experience in critical care nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred).
  • IV and IV contrast certification.
  • Coronary care course or successful completion of challenge exam within orientation period.
  • Basic lethal dysrhythmia certification within 6 months of employment.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within 6 months of employment.

Please note that previous Samaritan employees must have been gone for at least 2 years and be eligible for rehire to be considered. Additionally, permanent residence of the traveler must be at least 60 miles away from the facility.
