Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Nuvance Health. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a well-equipped, clean, and orderly operating room environment. This is a full-time position with a variable shift schedule, including rotating Sundays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare anesthesia machines and equipment/supplies for procedures and assist with room turnover in an efficient manner.
  • Clean, stock medications and supplies, and maintain anesthesia carts, machines, and equipment in all areas of operating rooms/procedural rooms where anesthetics are administered.
  • Stock anesthesia workroom and all other designated locations with medications and supplies to maintain availability of anesthesia supplies.
  • Collaborate with anesthesia staff to prepare standard stock forms to ensure constant and efficient restocks.
  • Maintain appropriate logs and records for tracking of medications.
  • Respond immediately to any reasonable requests for equipment, supplies, or assistance made by anesthesiologists or anesthetists involved in pre-, intra-, or post-operative patient care.
  • Achieve the organization's established expectations for behavioral standards, quality service, cost containment, teamwork, and self-development.
  • Responsible for resolution of first-level trouble shooting for anesthesia gas delivery systems and anesthesia to resolve, refer issue to supervisor and Bio-Medical engineering.
  • Deal courteously and tactfully with patients and staff.
  • Meet department standards for attendance, punctuality, customer service, telephone communication, and cost containment.
  • Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Requirements
  • Read and speak English fluently.
  • Minimum experience: one year.
  • Desired: Previous anesthesia tech experience, knowledge of surgical terminology, and math helpful.
Work Environment

This position is located at Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Ave, Danbury, CT. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6am to 2:30pm, with rotating Sundays. The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
