About This Role

Partner Reinsurance Company is seeking a highly skilled VP Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for underwriting a diverse book of casualty business, including production and marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite a book of professional liability treaty business, including D&O and ancillary classes, E&O classes, Transactional Liability, and Cyber Liability.
  • Collaborate with colleagues internationally to build a portfolio of business that is structured to produce and maintain profitable results throughout the market cycle.
  • Conduct extensive reviews and analyses of treaty reinsurance opportunities, including performing a thorough analysis of primary operations, products, and management teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and reinsurance brokers to cultivate continuous flow of treaty reinsurance opportunities.
  • Work closely with the actuarial, finance, and claims teams to analyze and structure reinsurance programs.
  • Travel as required to meet with clients and brokers, attend and conduct client reviews, and attend industry conferences.
Requirements
  • A college or university degree is required, with an MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • CPCU, ARE, or other industry designations are preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in progressively advancing underwriting roles in the insurance industry and/or in the reinsurance brokerage sector.
  • Strong industry relationships and a reputation as a respected reinsurance underwriter.
  • Working knowledge of actuarial and pricing concepts, with experience partnering with actuarial teams to price and structure reinsurance treaties.
