Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our Network and Unified Communications Architecture team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex network infrastructure solutions.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will work closely with our team to provide technical guidance and support for the creation and review of network designs, conduct hardware evaluations in a lab, and collaborate with vendors. You will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing network engineering processes, including configuration management and design standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network engineering, with experience in designing, implementing, and supporting complex network infrastructure solutions. You will also have a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including network protocols and common services.

We offer a competitive salary range of $135,000 - $216,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including fully comprehensive medical plans, tuition reimbursement, and fertility treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create/modify network drawings and author system engineering documents and plans
  • Support design, test, and pre-deployment readiness reviews
  • Support the network operations of the Production system
  • Provides team with recommendations on modern engineering approaches and strategies to improve successful task order deployments
  • Develops, implements, and manages network engineering processes, including configuration management and design standards
  • Performs capacity planning of the network by monitoring and analyzing network performance and availability
  • Pro-actively researches and evaluates tools and technologies, as appropriate, to the network environment, while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership
Requirements
  • An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (or similar technical field) and eight (8) years relevant experience; or a Master's degree and six (6) years of relevant experience; or a PhD and three (3) years of experience; or a High School Diploma/GED and 12 relevant years of experience in the above-cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a completed higher education degree
  • Must possess both a CCNA Certification and CCNP Certification
  • Experience with the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure solutions for routing and switching of complex networks
  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting WAN topologies leveraging ethernet, T-Carrier, and Optical Carrier circuits
  • Experience and understanding of networking fundamentals, including network protocols and common services
  • Experience and understanding of CCNA and CCNP layer 2 and 3 network configurations to include OSPF EIGRP, BGP, VLANS, and IPSEC enabled GRE tunnels as well as basic CallManger phone provisioning tasks
  • Implementation and troubleshooting experience of networks using concepts/protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs and emerging concepts such as Software Defined Networking
  • Prior experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer
Desired Qualifications
  • Posses specific hands-on technical collaborative experience with Cisco collaboration tools, CUCM/CM, CMS, and Meeting Server/ VQ
  • Current/valid IAT LVL III Certification (Security+ CE, CCNP, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, and CCSP)
  • Eight (8+) total years of experience in the architecture/design, development, and implementation of Wide Area Network (WAN) architecture
  • An Engineering degree with a networking focus
  • Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Experience using Python to automate routine network tasks
  • Understanding and experience with Software Defined Network (SDN) deployments
  • Juniper Enterprise Routing and Switching, Professional (JNCIP-ENT)
  • Advanced Network monitoring and log analysis tool experience with the ability to deploy and improve the current deployments of these systems
  • Experience working in a telecommunications carrier environment performing mission critical network implementations
  • Self-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others
  • Experience with application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security controls
