Position Overview

The Cafe Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in our dynamic team, contributing to the lively atmosphere that makes Grand Central Bakery's cafes so inviting. This individual is dedicated to serving delightful food and beverages to our community of loyal patrons. Responsibilities include efficiently managing various shifts, assisting with food preparation during peak hours, and frequently acting as the Person in Charge (PIC).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily cafe operations and ensure a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Assist in food and beverage preparation, particularly during busy periods.
  • Serve as the Person in Charge, maintaining operational standards.
  • Support team members and foster a collaborative work atmosphere.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Basic math skills are essential.
  • Must possess a valid food handler's card.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the food service industry is preferred.
  • Exhibit professionalism and a friendly demeanor with customers.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift.
  • Capable of working in a lively environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with exposure to flour dust and other grain dusts.
