Position Overview

As a **Hospice Care Assistant**, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate support to patients and their families during challenging times. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of personal care services tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide essential personal care services to patients, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, fostering a respectful and supportive environment.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, reporting any significant changes to the supervising nurse.
  • Support patients in mobility and exercise, promoting their physical well-being.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for patients, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.


Qualifications

  • Completion of state-required training and certification as a nursing assistant.
  • Experience in providing personal care, preferably in a hospice or healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Compassionate approach to patient care, with an understanding of end-of-life issues.
  • Current CPR certification and satisfactory references from previous employers.
