Job Title: Boarding Agent

Biehl & Co. Alabama, LLC. is seeking a highly skilled Boarding Agent to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Boarding Agent will be responsible for coordinating the movement of vessels, including pilots, tugs, lines, and bunkering. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to learn quickly, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Orchestrate vessel movements, including pilots, tugs, lines, and bunkering.
  • Generate necessary government forms.
  • Use the Agency operating system to perform job duties.
  • Communicate daily updates with principals and terminals.
  • Manage financial responsibilities, including calculating Preliminary Disbursement Accounts (PDAs), approving invoices, and generating accounting sheets.
  • Coordinate owner's requirements, including waste provisions, stores, spares, ship repair/maintenance, and crew needs.
  • Prepare and sign Bills of Lading with Principal and Port Manager approval.
  • Prepare and sign Statement of Facts.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience with ships, tugs, etc., and accompanying paperwork requirements preferred.
  • Prior Agency experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience.
Physical Requirements:

The Boarding Agent must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps; reach; stand; walk; talk; and hear. The worker must exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
