The Calhoun County Online Application Consortium is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Transportation Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from designated locations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the bus driver in maintaining and controlling student behavior and discipline on the bus.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all terms on student data forms.
- Maintain individual behavior logs as directed by the Director of Transportation.
- Prepare and submit Bus Conduct Reports as necessary.
- Inform parents and the Director of Transportation of any unusual incidents or circumstances.
- Discharge students only at authorized stops.
- Administer first aid as necessary.
- Serve as the primary provider as established in the school district's Bloodborne Pathogen policy and procedures.
- Remain informed with established transportation department emergency procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Basic understanding and operation of adaptive equipment.
- Bloodborne Pathogens training.
- Capable of lifting and moving objects in excess of 60 lbs.
- Demonstrate a caring, patient attitude towards students.
- Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
The Transportation Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with students, parents, and transportation staff. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
