Job Summary

The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in the culinary team, overseeing food production and supervising hourly team members. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality, quantity, and timeliness of daily meal production, adhering to Parkhurst standards and strict sanitary guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct culinary staff to maintain standards and quality.
  • Assist in purchasing food, paper, cleaning, and safety items within budgeted levels.
  • Participate in menu development, production sheets, and execution of new recipe standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the unit for sanitation, cleanliness, and temperatures.
  • Verify recipe standards and consistency to ensure a quality product.
  • Check schedules, review production sheets, and daily menu plans.
  • Maintain open communication with management and adhere to proper coaching and discipline methods.
  • Supervise staff, maintain inventory, and assist with onboarding and training.
Qualifications
  • Three or more years of culinary experience.
  • High school or GED.
  • Ability to organize workloads and meet time deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft software programs.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending, reaching, and grasping.
  • Walking short distances.
  • Exposure to high noise, heat, and humidity levels.
  • Standing for long periods on hard surfaces.
