The Behavioral Support Technician is dedicated to providing educational and behavioral assistance to children and adolescents with special needs. This role involves close collaboration with educational professionals and behavioral specialists to meet the learning and behavioral objectives of students.

Position Overview:
Behavioral Support Technician
Openings available for Middle School (Grades 6-8)
Classroom settings include dedicated classes for 6th/7th grade, 7th/8th grade, and a mixed classroom of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
Class Size: 16 Students
Working Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to directives from the BCBA, educators, and program supervisors.
- Implement behavior management strategies, including prevention, intervention, and consequence techniques.
- Provide crisis intervention as necessary.
- Review and execute behavior intervention plans.
- Assist in achieving behavioral and academic goals outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Support academic instruction under the guidance of educators.
- Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Physical Therapists (PT) to implement development plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of sessions in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Collect and manage behavioral and academic data effectively.
- Uphold confidentiality standards.
- Aid students in developing independent living skills through daily self-care activities.
- Provide support across various environments, including classrooms, playgrounds, lunchrooms, gyms, sensory rooms, and libraries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience working with children is preferred.
- Compliance with relevant professional standards of practice.
- Participation in Amergis' Competency program as applicable.
- Current CPR certification, if required.
- Completion of TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable.
- Valid health certificate as per contract or state regulations.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training as required.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in the English language.
- Computer proficiency is essential.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
