The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor at Mon Health Medical Center is responsible for providing leadership and support for day-to-day inpatient pharmacy operations. This role ensures optimal medication therapy to patients by completing and following up on work orders to Facilities and Information Technology.
Key responsibilities include staff supervision, scheduling, coordination of new employee orientation, resolution of employee issues, discipline, and action plans. The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor also assists the Director of Pharmacy in performance improvement projects, quality initiatives, and benchmarking to ensure operational excellence, clinical quality, and financial efficiency.
This role requires expertise in managing pharmacy systems, including automatic dispensing machines, pharmacy information systems, controlled substances safes, and medications pre-packagers. The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor must stay abreast of departmental practices and policies, consistently performing within the pharmacy practice act.
Additional duties include assisting the nursing staff with coordinating medication therapy to meet individual needs. A minimum of two years of pharmacy supervisory experience is required, with formal leadership training a plus. Knowledge of general inpatient pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance is essential.
Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a foreign pharmacy graduate with the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee certificate.
