  • Execute the setup and maintenance of machinery and related equipment.
  • Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance tasks of significant complexity with minimal technical support as outlined in the technical documentation.
  • Diagnose issues and implement corrective measures during the initial product lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and resolve application challenges of limited complexity, collaborating with Applications on more intricate matters to enhance application expertise.
  • Address machining issues on components by assessing routine test cuts according to technical specifications.
  • Assist in urgent situations such as 'Customer Alert' or 'Hot Customer' by supplying relevant technical information for problem resolution and providing consistent status updates to all parties involved.
  • Offer technical support to Field Service Engineers on critical and complex challenges.
  • Facilitate training sessions for team members and clients on the safe operation, upkeep, and preventative maintenance of machinery and associated equipment.
  • Act as a communication bridge between the client and the organization to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Timely completion of all reports in accordance with service department protocols.
  • Comply with the Service Department Code of Conduct Guidelines.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Diagnostics Team and Advanced Technical Support Department to receive assignments and relay updates.
  • This role will support the Regional Service Manager in supervising the activities of less experienced Field Service Engineers.

Essential Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in mechanical and/or electrical engineering from an accredited institution; over 6 years of experience in a comparable manufacturing or machine tool environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment and familiarity with EDM and/or Milling Machines.
  • Extensive experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and computer systems.
  • Knowledge of Heidenhain Control, including i530/i620/i640, and 5-axis Kinematic setup/3D Rotation is required.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with Fanuc Control and Heidenhain Control tuning is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment and comprehensive knowledge of milling machines and related products and equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Great Plains or similar software applications.
  • Professional demeanor with outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
  • A strong dedication to delivering exceptional customer service.
