The role of a Paramedic is vital in providing urgent medical assistance and patient transport in emergency situations, adhering to established state and local protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers advanced life support and ensures safe transportation, including basic life support assessments, continuous patient monitoring, and effective wound management.
- Evaluates and addresses medical emergencies or trauma incidents using suitable methods and tools.
- Handles a diverse range of patients while complying with advanced and basic life support protocols.
- Exhibits expertise in operating medical apparatus and executing procedures.
- Delivers care in accordance with advanced cardiac life support and basic trauma life support standards.
- Accurately records patient care activities and emergency medical service responses.
- Maintains a checklist for advanced and basic life support, replenishes medical supplies, and fulfills necessary documentation.
- Ensures that vehicle supplies align with advanced life support requirements and meets quality assurance standards.
- Engages in training, development, and mandatory safety programs.
- Takes charge of crew matters when in the highest position within the command hierarchy.
- Conducts debriefings after calls and participates in mandatory training sessions.
- Complies with organizational policies and procedures at all times.
- Represents the Town of Newburgh Emergency Medical Squad with professionalism and integrity.
