Senior Database Specialist

We are seeking a senior-level database specialist to collaborate with our BNY Mellon information security team on a 6-month contract. If you possess expert SQL querying skills and a good foundation in Python or Java programming languages, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures on MS SQL Server to support data retrieval and manipulation needs
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions, ensuring alignment with database structures and capabilities
Utilize either Java or Python to develop and maintain applications, integrating them with the database backend as needed
Work with ETL tools to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the database, ensuring data quality and integrity
Leverage Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics, utilizing its features and capabilities to enhance data storage and processing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business use cases and requirements, providing technical expertise and solutions
Contribute to the design and architecture of database systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and security

Qualifications:
5+ years of writing complex SQL queries
4+ years of experience creating database views and stored procedures w/ MS SQL server
Hands on experience with ETL tools
Hands on experience with Snowflake (preferred)
Bachelors degree (preferred)

Key Skills:
Expert SQL querying skills
Strong foundation in Python or Java programming languages
Experience with MS SQL Server
ETL tool expertise
Snowflake experience (preferred)
