We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at St. Claire HealthCare. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our respiratory therapy department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide therapeutic and administrative services necessary for patient care, under the direction of the department leader.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to ancillary personnel, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
- Perform all clinical respiratory therapy skills according to established policy and procedure, maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
- Assess, provide, and document patient/family education, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
- Document respiratory care on patient records, consistent with written guidelines, to ensure accurate and comprehensive patient information.
- Provide respiratory care for patients requiring elective/emergency procedures, utilizing St. Claire resources and equipment efficiently.
- Prepare and administer respiratory therapy medications according to established policy and procedure, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Graduate from a school of Respiratory Therapy.
- Previous respiratory therapy experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Must be certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and hold a current license from the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care (KBRC).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended.
The physical demands of this role require the ability to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and communicate with staff, patients, and visitors. Specific vision abilities include close vision for reading and computer work. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and be on feet for long periods of time, and must be able to tolerate PPE for extended periods.
