Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team at ProCare Therapy in Sherwood, OR.

About the Role:

This is a full-time opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate educator to work with students with disabilities. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive educational evaluations to assess students' cognitive, behavioral, and emotional functioning.
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
  • Provide counseling and support on various issues, including academic concerns, social-emotional problems, and behavioral challenges.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Consult with teachers and other school personnel to develop and implement interventions to address students' needs.
  • Work closely with parents and families to provide support and resources.
  • School-Wide Initiatives: Participate in initiatives promoting student success and well-being.
  • Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in special education.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.
  • A valid and current state license to practice special education.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working as a special education teacher in an educational setting.
  • Key Skills: Strong knowledge of psychological assessment and intervention techniques, experience in developing and implementing IEPs, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and compassion, empathy, and commitment to student success.

Earned Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and skillsets.
