About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join American Refining Group as a Systems Administrator I. As a member of our IT team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the stability and security of our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
The Systems Administrator I will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, applications, system appliances, and other hardware. This role will also involve monitoring performance, diagnosing problems, and implementing solutions to the infrastructure and hardware as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
This role will be split between backend system management and client assistance and help as well. The Systems Administrator I will be a part of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team, helping to react, triage, and remediate any Cybersecurity issues that arise. The role will also involve ensuring that the Cybersecurity Incident Response plan is maintained and strengthened over time.
What You'll Do:
Builds, updates, troubleshoots, and maintains client hardware systems. Trains employees on hardware and software systems. One of the primary support contacts and solves daily user issues. Cleans and maintains equipment. Reviews and validates data. Implements and supports cloud-based systems, including email, mobile device management, spam filtering, awareness training, and Microsoft Azure. Performs and maintains backup systems critical to the business to preserve data assets. Utilizes scripting tools like Microsoft PowerShell to automate and efficiently manage systems. Manages Active Directory, including Group Policy Management, User and Group management, and Domain Administration management. Develops and maintains documentation related to infrastructure, including specifications, policies, and procedures while working with departments to grant the necessary permissions and access they need only. Researches, evaluates, and implements enterprise hardware and software solutions, systems-based projects, and upgrades. Implements, maintains, and supports physical and virtual servers, including OS support, patching, and third-party software maintenance. Implements, maintains, and supports the network infrastructure of switches, routers, firewalls, and other appliances. Participates and helps coordinate planning and organization of network infrastructure upgrades and future utilization. Monitors and reacts to network and server performance utilization to maintain uptime of critical business systems and infrastructure. Works side by side with interns, help desk technicians, and system engineer technicians. Escalation support for System Technicians. Responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and maintaining datacenter and network rack technologies, including servers, network infrastructure, and power. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in information technology; 1-3 years prior work experience. Support cybersecurity software packages and partners, including endpoint protection, firewall, SIEM, DLP, and others. Proactively identifies improvement opportunities and makes recommendations to IT managers. Prepares and presents recommendations for systems enhancements and/or modifications. Technical role as part of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team. Analyzing, reporting, and responding to detected cyber incidents. Maintains cybersecurity monitoring operations. Proactively monitors environment using available tools. Assists with planning and designing security solutions. Assists in enhancing existing procedures of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan. Participates in continuous education to stay on top of the latest technologies and security risks. Provides helpdesk assistance to end users. Physical & cognitive demands of the job include meeting deadlines, focusing attention, working independently, independent judgment, working with a team, communicating, reading, comprehension, critical thinking/troubleshooting. Physical demands include seeing, speaking, hearing, sitting, walking, climbing, standing, reaching, listening, writing, driving, keyboarding. Push/pull/lift/carry 35 pounds. Some travel.
