Unified Communications Systems Administrator

Job Summary:
The Unified Communications Technician/Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining unified communications systems, including VoIP, video conferencing, and messaging platforms, as well as providing systems administration support for server and network infrastructure. This role ensures the effective operation of communication systems and the secure, reliable performance of IT services in accordance with DOD standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot unified communications systems, including VoIP, video conferencing, and instant messaging platforms.
• Monitor system performance and implement necessary updates or patches to ensure system reliability and security.
• Provide support for end-users, including training and troubleshooting issues related to unified communications.
• Administer server environments, including installation, configuration, and management of operating systems and applications.
• Oversee network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Perform regular backups, recovery procedures, and system monitoring to ensure data integrity and system uptime.
Security and Compliance:
• Ensure all systems and communications platforms comply with DOD 8140 regulations and security standards.
• Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply necessary patches or updates to address security vulnerabilities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in unified communications and systems administration.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) preferred.
