Nature-Based Learning Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Nature-Based Learning Specialist to join our team at Wild at Art Nature Camp. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement engaging nature-based lessons, art projects, and daily activities for children.
Responsibilities- Design and lead nature-based lessons, art projects, and daily activities for children, utilizing tools from our makerspace
- Collaborate with other educators to ensure a cohesive and high-quality educational experience
- Assist with cleanup and organization at the end of each day
- Maintain the health and safety of all children in your group
- Provide behavioral support and guidance to Counselors in Training as needed
- Must be 18+ years old
- Have a minimum of 4 weeks' experience working with children, including babysitting, volunteering, or experience with younger siblings
- Provide documented proof of immunity or vaccination record as mandated by MA DPH
- Hold current First Aid and CPR certifications or be willing to obtain them before the start of the summer
- Participate in mandated, paid camp training and utilize learning including natural history, communication, group management, health and safety, and teaching techniques
- Be physically able to manage a group outdoors for six hours a day in most weather conditions
- Ability to effectively interact with others, especially children, in a youth-centered environment
- Ability to adapt to changes in schedule and work assignment
This position offers a competitive salary range of $16.54-$19.00/hour, commensurate with experience. Additionally, employees are eligible for pro-deal discounts on outdoor clothing and equipment, networking opportunities with Mass Audubon staff, and free First Aid/CPR training.
