Job Title: Senior Scala Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scala Engineer to join our team in Post Trade Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud-based market infrastructure service using Scala.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a critical market infrastructure service that requires a deep understanding of microservices architecture, domain-driven design, and event-driven architecture. You will work closely with our product and architecture teams to understand their requirements and translate them into robust, timely delivered applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop multiple components of the Equities platform using Scala
  • Resolve high-impact problems through in-depth evaluation of sophisticated architectures, business processes, and industry standards
  • Collaborate with the team to develop highly resilient and future-proof solutions
  • Contribute to research and suggest new projects for the Equities platform
  • Work with product, architecture, and delivery teams to understand their requirements and translate them into robust, timely delivered applications
Requirements
  • Strong experience in functional programming and object-oriented programming
  • Deep understanding of Scala, including Akka, Play Framework, and Cats/Scalaz
  • Experience working with containerized and orchestrated services using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of service mesh such as Istio
  • Experience building and maintaining dev-ops pipelines for delivering applications using GitLab
  • Experience with shift-left testing principles and frameworks using Junit, Cucumber, Gherkin, Contract Test (PACT), TestContainers, or other similar technology
  • Knowledge of eventing and messaging infrastructure such as Kafka and MQ
  • Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with relational DBs, such as Postgres
  • Basic understanding of cloud networking
  • Experience working in Scrum/Kanban model

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $114,400 - $212,600, and an Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) with target rates commensurate with role level and posted career stage. We also offer a range of benefits, including annual wellness allowance, paid time-off, medical, dental, vision, flex spending, health savings options, prescription drug plan, 401(K) savings plan, and company match.
