Job Summary

Williamson Medical Center is seeking a skilled Surgical Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Perinatal Care team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in our OB-GYN unit. Your expertise will be essential in delivering exceptional patient outcomes and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide evidence-based care and promote patient safety.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Develop and implement educational programs to promote patient empowerment and self-care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including progress notes and discharge summaries.

Requirements

  • Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
  • Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • A minimum of one year perinatal experience preferred.
  • NRP, or agree to obtain within six months of hire.
  • ACLS certification or agree to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Able to perform as Scrub and Surgical Assist in OB OR.
  • Level I and II fetal monitoring within 1 year of hire.
  • Able to function in stressful situations.
  • Able to return to work within 1 hour when on call.
