Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist Specialist is responsible for preparing the operating room and gathering necessary supplies for surgical procedures. This role requires strong communication and critical thinking skills to effectively assist the surgical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room and gather necessary supplies for surgical procedures
  • Deliver instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other members of the surgical team
  • Assist in the proper decontamination of the room, supplies, and instruments
  • Perform primary role independently and demonstrate basic critical thinking skills
  • Anticipate surgeon needs and communicate effectively with staff
  • Identify and intervene in emergency situations safely with assistance and/or supervision
  • Complete basic skills and competencies in multiple service lines
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BLS certification
  • ST certification preferred
  • Completion of OhioHealth OR ST Fellowship or equivalent military training
  • 10+ years' experience as a Surgery Technician
Work Environment

This role is based in the Surgery Main department and requires a 40-hour workweek. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
