Production Supervisor Truss Shop Leader

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our Truss Shop team at Builders FirstSource. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in production activities at our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and direct workers in truss or panel manufacturing
  • Interview and select hires to ensure that department is fully staffed for production needs
  • Train workers in safe and correct equipment operation
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements and work procedures to meet schedule demands
  • Apply company policies and ensure alignment with core values and compliance with safety regulations
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, quality of product, and efficiency
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Confer with management and area leads to coordinate activities of individual departments
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training
  • Prior experience supervising preferred
