Position Overview

The role of Director of Communication & Public Affairs is pivotal in shaping the narrative for the Pulmonary Hypertension and Retina divisions within Johnson & Johnson.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute comprehensive communication strategies tailored to the U.S. Pulmonary Hypertension and Retina sectors.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to design innovative and impactful communication initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, including various teams, partners, and media outlets.
  • Ensure precise execution of communication plans to uphold consistent messaging and brand integrity.
  • Evaluate and analyze communication efforts to assess effectiveness and provide data-driven recommendations for enhancement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and effective communication practices to continuously refine strategies.
  • Lead crisis communication initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information during critical situations.
  • Manage budgets and resources to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of communication efforts.
  • Guide, mentor, and motivate direct reports to foster professional growth.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in communication management within corporate, NGO, governmental, or public relations settings.
  • A proven history of successful public relations, corporate communications, product communications, public affairs, and media relations.
  • Ability to cultivate successful partnerships and influence senior leadership.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills, with strong written, verbal, and visual communication capabilities.
  • Experience engaging with national and local media, including lay, professional, trade, and social platforms.
  • A high degree of independent judgment and decision-making.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors.
  • Background in crisis and issues management.
  • Knowledge of the cardiovascular, pulmonary, or rare disease fields.
  • Comprehensive understanding of digital and social media platforms.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Experience in budget and schedule management.
  • Ability to maintain a positive outlook and contribute constructively to partnership discussions.
  • Professional maturity with the capability to work effectively across various levels, functions, regions, and backgrounds.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $137,000 - $244,950 USD, with eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus.
