We are seeking a seasoned Vice President, Large Casualty Underwriter to join our Primary Casualty Underwriting team.
Our Large National Casualty practice offers diverse multi-line capabilities targeted at select industry verticals such as manufacturing, financial institutions, professional services, technology, and life sciences.
We continue to build out our appetite where we feel there are market needs and where we can build sustainable profit.
We work through a network of retail brokers who share our commitment to long-term partnerships built on our strong service proposition including claims, risk control, and underwriting expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzing and underwriting risks such as Financial Institutions, Professional Services, Manufacturing, Life Science, Technology, Retail, and Wholesale
- Assessing information on adverse underwriting decisions, rate appeals, underwriting requirements, status, and declinations to drive results
- Committing to our strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture in line with the business' risk appetite
- Utilizing advanced pricing models across various structures including guaranteed cost, captives, SIRs, and deductibles
- Monitoring regional issues, regulations, and trends to support and drive business objectives
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience underwriting and producing all sizes of accounts with the large brokerage houses, agents, and specialty retailers
- Knowledgeable in underwriting General Liability, Workers Compensation, and Auto
- Strong technical underwriting skills through strategic and thorough account reviews on large profitable business
- Experience establishing and expanding relationships with regional and national brokers and agents
- Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas to influence and grow our business
- Undergraduate degree or demonstrable industry experience
What We Offer
- Competitive salary range: $150,000 – $240,000
- High-quality compensation and benefit programs to eligible employees
- Pay-for-performance culture, resulting in higher incentive awards when the Company does well and lower incentive awards when the Company underperforms
