Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified English Adjunct Instructor to join our Transitional Studies department at the State of South Carolina. As an Adjunct Professor of English, you will be responsible for teaching grammar, basic writing skills, and introduction to composition to a diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach grammar, basic writing skills, and introduction to composition courses
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and instructional materials
  • Assess student learning and participate in departmental continuous improvement processes
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field with experience teaching grammar, basic writing skills, and introduction to composition
  • Master's degree in English or a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in English, education, language arts, literature, or a related discipline
  • Teaching experience in developmental or adult education
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching grammar, basic writing skills, and introduction to composition
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
