Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients warmly and professionally.
- Handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate department as needed.
- Organize and modify patient appointments to optimize care and meet practice goals; conduct appointment reminder calls to ensure patient attendance.
- Maintain and update patient records; review documentation, process registrations, and input data into the system; verify insurance benefits and document treatment in patient charts.
- Discuss financial options with patients; process payments via point of sale; reconcile daily transactions.
- Keep the reception area tidy and organized.
- Participate in team meetings and complete required training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Familiarity with dental terminology and the ability to explain basic procedures.
- Proven ability to maintain a positive demeanor while managing multiple priorities in a team setting.
- Commitment to confidentiality in all interactions.
- Strong computer proficiency, particularly in MS Office Suite, Windows, and Google Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and accountability in administrative tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to read, interpret, and create documents such as safety guidelines and procedure manuals.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a front desk role within a medical or dental environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer.
- Capacity to lift a minimum of 15 pounds.
