Your Responsibilities
This role involves a research position as a Principal within the Securitized Products group of PGIM Fixed Income, managing a portfolio of $118 billion in assets. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior associates to assess tailored U.S. and global transactions across the consumer, esoteric, and commercial asset-backed finance (ABF) sectors, while conducting ongoing research activities.
Key Duties Include:
- Evaluating new issue and secondary investment opportunities within the consumer, esoteric, and commercial ABF/ABS markets.
- Negotiating documentation terms with issuers, sponsors, and other involved parties.
- Analyzing collateral to formulate modeling assumptions.
- Establishing proprietary credit ratings.
- Conducting ESG assessments of issuers and transaction parties, assigning proprietary ESG Impact scores.
- Presenting findings from transaction-specific and sector-wide analyses to internal and external stakeholders, including portfolio managers and clients.
- Monitoring industry-wide issues affecting originators, broker/dealers, and investors, including regulatory changes and legal precedents.
- Performing ongoing monitoring and analysis of portfolio positions to evaluate credit risk, stability of credit ratings, cash flow volatility, and trading opportunities.
Your Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in consumer, esoteric, and/or commercial ABF/ABS.
- Prior experience in analyzing ABF/ABS transactions in a buy-side or sell-side research capacity.
- Proven ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively to meet team objectives.
- Experience in generating collateral performance assumptions, assessing credit risk, and negotiating deal terms.
- In-depth knowledge of ABF/ABS issuers, intermediaries, and investors.
- Strong understanding of U.S. and European securitization structures and legal documentation.
- Demonstrated capability to source, underwrite, document, and monitor transactions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously while contributing to team dynamics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
