Job Summary

The Portfolio Manager of Supplier Excellence is responsible for developing and executing mutually beneficial strategies that drive results for RNDC, our customers, and our supplier partners. This role requires regular collaboration and ongoing communication to optimize state sales execution. The successful candidate will be accountable for driving the execution of the supplier's commercial strategy, programming, and P&L, with a focus on growing supplier and RNDC revenue and profitability. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with supplier agreements through regular audits and analysis of market activity.
  • Managing the full Supplier P&L, responsible for maximizing top-line revenue by developing strategies to grow business with a portfolio of suppliers, while maintaining bottom-line profitability and optimal mix, SKU, and brand line-ups for the geography.
  • Translating, optimizing, and enabling supplier strategy and initiatives across all RNDC functions and footprints.
  • Collaborating with the supply chain team, purchasing, demand planners, and centralized buying teams to optimize inventory levels within the state, adhere to mutually agreed-upon days on hand, and deliver accurate forecasting models that serve to deliver supplier annual operating plans.
  • Developing and leading supplier-based commercial plans/AOPs, new item set-ups, and launches, including setting targets and goals for suppliers, providing guidance and direction for the commercial planning process to ensure execution in the geography.
  • Aligning with supplier and state sales leadership in program development, delivery, and execution, developing, leading, and cascading supplier programs, goals, KPIs, and other key initiatives.
  • Facilitating seamless communication across the RNDC network of teams, inclusive of state sales leadership, national accounts, supply chain, and sales finance.
  • Reviewing and analyzing brands for opportunities for sales and profits, responsible for identifying and developing high-growth potential suppliers/brands and driving out under-performing brands and SKUs.
  • Maintaining fluency on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, attending key industry conferences/meetings to represent RNDC and continue to build strategic relationships and make an impact with current and new suppliers.
  • Leading special projects and supplier initiatives that drive mutually beneficial needs for RNDC, the supplier portfolio, and all internal channels.
Requirements
  • Five or more years of related experience with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
