Position Overview

AECOM is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer to support our initiatives.

Role Summary:

The Transportation Engineer will engage in a broad spectrum of engineering tasks within an office environment. This role encompasses overseeing the formulation, endorsement, and execution of policies and procedures, as well as managing contracts with architectural and engineering consultants involved in high-speed rail projects. Responsibilities also include project management related to scope, timelines, budgets, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of Strategic Delivery policies and procedures.
  • Support the creation and implementation of work breakdown structures across all Strategic Delivery areas.
  • Design work plans, schedules, quality assurance plans, and implementation strategies.
  • Draft technical reports and correspondence for decision-making processes.
  • Participate in client meetings and public forums concerning contract procurement and management.
  • Conduct contract administration tasks, including reviewing documents such as submittals and change orders, and utilizing computer-based systems for contract data management.
  • Oversee the performance of various consultants to ensure adherence to contract obligations and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain project documentation, produce meeting minutes, and provide public presentations on transportation engineering topics.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 6 years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to analyze and devise effective solutions for complex rail project challenges.
  • Proficiency in office applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Experience in preparing technical documentation and delivering comprehensive reports.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans and specifications related to transportation systems.
