Position Summary
KIPP Pride High School is seeking a dedicated Head Varsity Volleyball Coach to lead and develop a comprehensive volleyball program. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience necessary to foster a successful athletic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the volleyball program in alignment with KIPP Pride High School's policies and regulations.
- Manage team operations, including coaching, training, and supporting student-athletes in their academic and athletic pursuits.
- Collaborate with the athletic director to establish and adhere to the program budget.
- Coordinate scheduling of games and officials in partnership with athletic staff.
- Engage with support organizations for fundraising initiatives to enhance the athletic program.
- Set and assess goals for the volleyball team, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement an orientation program for athletes and their families.
- Maintain academic and disciplinary eligibility standards for all athletes.
- Supervise assistant coaches and athletes, addressing any issues with school administration.
- Organize team travel logistics.
- Uphold confidentiality regarding sensitive information related to students and staff.
- Assist with additional coaching responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with prior coaching experience in volleyball at various levels. Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with players, parents, and school administration.
Work Environment:
This position involves working in diverse settings, including offices, gymnasiums, training facilities, and outdoor environments. Availability for evening practices and travel for away games is required. Candidates must possess the physical capability to train and coach athletic teams and successfully pass a background check.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time position compensated through a seasonal stipend and is not eligible for benefits. It may be combined with a full-time staff or faculty role.
