Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician II to join our team at Tyonek Manufacturing Group. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing skilled maintenance, repair, and minor construction in various trades to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled maintenance, repair, and minor construction in various trades, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, energy management, fire and life safety, and keys/security systems.
  • Assist the Facility Manager in planning and executing facility maintenance and repair projects.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and control systems, and related components.
  • Repair and maintain various facilities systems, components, and structures, including building plumbing, low-voltage, and line voltage electric systems, door hardware, fire and life safety protection equipment/systems, sprinkler systems, sensors, and related hardware and software.
  • Conduct structural inspections for safety and perform service and preventative maintenance on building and building systems.
  • Access and adjust computerized control systems, such as lighting and HVAC control systems.
  • Perform electronic record keeping in the CMMS (Manager Plus) related to preventative maintenance and repair of buildings, building systems, and assets.
  • Track and complete assigned work orders and work requests, and update schedules for preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to customer maintenance needs via work requests and track facility assets in Manager Plus asset management software.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and closures due to inclement weather to ensure facilities remain operational.
  • Assist with tasks required to prepare facilities for inclement weather events and follow all safety procedures of Tyonek when performing all work.
  • Operate a Tyonek vehicle and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 6-10 years of facility maintenance experience, or two years of education or formal training, or an associate's degree in facilities maintenance trades.
  • Experience with complex life safety and fire suppression systems.
  • Experience working in aircraft facilities.
  • Ability to read schematics and building drawings.
  • Able to obtain a SIDA badge clearance through the airport.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management software, preferably Manager Plus.
  • Ability to utilize mobile devices to complete work tasks and experience with Microsoft Software Suite.

Work both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions. May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise, and temperature extremes. Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Wrist, hand, and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials.

Use of hand tools and power tools. May be required to work at heights of 60'.
