Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of buyers, providing guidance and support in managing supplier relationships, executing procurement strategies, and optimizing the procure-to-pay process.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure excellence in purchasing execution and operational processes, including order placement, tracking, and fulfillment, to meet business objectives efficiently and effectively.
  • Supplier Management and Procure-to-Pay Process: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring and managing their performance to ensure adherence to agreed-upon service levels and quality standards. Oversee the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and payment, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Supplier Performance Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate procurement risks, implementing strategies to minimize supply chain disruptions and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Cost Optimization: Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce procurement expenses while maintaining quality standards.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation, and supplier diversification.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, technology, commercial, and legal departments, to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
  • Performance Measurement: Develop and implement KPIs to measure procurement performance, supplier performance, and the effectiveness of the procure-to-pay process.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is essential. MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a high-value, low-volume, and large number of SKU's business environment is essential.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience successfully managing supplier relationships and optimizing the procure-to-pay process is essential.
  • Leadership Skills: Previous leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate others is essential.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and drive continuous improvement is essential.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders and supplier partners at all levels is essential.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven negotiations skills that have resulted in substantial TCO reduction without compromise to quality and delivery is essential.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives to develop and support the purchasing activities of the Supply Chain Management team and the wider business environment is essential.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with US Government rules and regulations including FAR, DFAR, and other agency supplements is desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Proficiency in procurement software and tools is desirable.
