We are seeking a skilled and experienced Communications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping the public perception of InsideHigherEd and promoting our content to a wide audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic communications plans to support InsideHigherEd's mission and goals.
  • Craft compelling press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets.
  • Manage social media channels and engage with followers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in crisis communication and issues management.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate technical content for a general audience.
  • Experience working in higher education is preferred.
