About the Role

Curtis Lumber is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at the Ballston Spa location. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the thorough and efficient repair and maintenance of company trucks, tractor trailers, fork lifts, automobiles, and other heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other heavy equipment components
  • Conduct preventative maintenance repairs, including tire installation, rotation, and lubrication
  • Diagnose and repair electrical system issues, cooling system problems, and other mechanical issues
  • Develop and implement repair plans in consultation with management
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company safety protocols
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing training and education
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in diesel repair and service for heavy truck, light truck, automotive, small engine, and forklift
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; formal training or vocational experience preferred
