Virtual TVI Position - Part-Time

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Virtual Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional educational support to our students, empowering them to succeed in a variety of subjects and skills.

Job Duties:

  • Virtual Instruction: Provide virtual instruction to visually impaired students in various subjects and skills, including braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility.
  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement IEPs that address each student's unique learning needs and goals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other specialists to ensure students have access to necessary accommodations and support.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting instruction and support as needed.
  • Family Support: Provide guidance and support to families to help them navigate the educational system and access resources and services.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in education, special education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid Missouri certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students and knowledge of braille and assistive technology.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues in a virtual setting.
  • Ability to provide engaging and effective virtual instruction using various platforms and tools.

Compensation and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 per year, flexible work hours, and a supportive and collaborative team environment.
