Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Bilingual Patient Advocate to join our team at Elevate Patient Financial Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in connecting uninsured hospital patients to programs that will cover their medical expenses. Your exceptional communication skills, adaptability, and ability to multitask will enable you to effectively navigate the complex process of government programs and hospital systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and/or county medical or disability assistance.
  • Complete and follow through on applications until approved.
  • Provide detailed, accurate, and timely documentation in our company systems and hospital systems on all cases worked.
  • Offer exceptional customer service skills at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing trainings to apply learned content in dealings with patients and cases.
  • Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, make out-bound calls, and track all paperwork necessary to submit enrollment and renewal for prospective Medicaid patients.
  • Maintain structured and timely contact with applicants and responsible government agencies.
  • Assist applicants with gathering additional reports or records, meeting appointment dates and times, and arranging transportation as needed.
  • Request home visits as needed to acquire documentation.
  • Inform clients in a timely manner of all approvals and denials of coverage.
  • Participate in additional training requirements to stay up-to-date on changing rules and regulations associated with government programs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior hospital experience is preferred.
  • Adaptability when dealing with constantly changing processes, computer systems, and government programs.
  • Professional experience working with state and federal programs.
  • Exemplary critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to maneuver throughout the hospital and patients' rooms for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to a variety of individuals.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
