Job Opportunity

SportsCare Physical Therapy is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Physician Extender/Scribe. This part-time position will be based in Morris County, NJ, and will involve working closely with our healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documentation:
    • Accurately document patient history, symptoms, physical exams, diagnoses, and treatment plans as dictated by the healthcare provider.
    • Update and maintain the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with relevant patient information, test results, and follow-up instructions.
    • Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, medications, and referrals.
  • Workflow Management:
    • Assist healthcare providers with managing and prioritizing patient workflow.
    • Ensure all patient charts are complete and finalized by the end of the day.
    • Coordinate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic or hospital department.
  • Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
    • Relay relevant information to healthcare providers as needed during patient encounters.
  • Compliance and Confidentiality:
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
    • Follow all hospital or clinic policies and procedures regarding documentation and record-keeping.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or completion of a medical scribe certification program.
  • Experience:
    • Experience working in a medical or clinical setting is preferred.
    • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and the healthcare system is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong typing and computer skills, with experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately transcribe information.
    • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and in stressful situations.
