Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter Community Overnight Shift

We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in a community overnight shift role. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between Deaf and hearing individuals in our community.

Job Summary:

This is a part-time position that requires flexibility and adaptability. You will work independently in a fast-paced environment, interpreting between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality interpretation services to our Deaf customers in various settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Interpret between ASL and spoken English with accuracy and fluency
  • Work effectively in a team environment, receiving support from and providing support to colleagues
  • Adhere to Sorenson policies and procedures, as well as the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
  • Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with customers and colleagues
  • Enhance interpreting skills through continuing education and training
  • Maintain compliance with national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment in a variety of settings and locations
  • Fully comply with Sorenson Communications attendance requirements
  • Effectively represent the Sorenson Communications brand when interacting with customers in the field
Requirements:
  • Ability to pass our required skills assessment
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree (preferred, but not required)
  • Interpreter certification (National and BEI)
  • 3 years' experience working as an interpreter preferred
  • Ability to travel independently in the metropolitan area
