Clinical Anesthesia Technician Specialist

The Clinical Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in ensuring safe patient care by establishing efficient set-up and turnover in the Main Operating Room (OR), Cardiovascular Operating Rooms (CVOR), and other Anesthesia environments.
Responsibilities include assisting and providing safe patient care in various procedural areas and anesthesia environments, including Obstetrics ORs, Bronchoscopy, PACU, Radiation Oncology, Interventional Radiology, Radiology, Emergency Department, Endoscopy Department, ICU, CVICU, and Cath lab.
Requirements:- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a clinical technician program preferred
- One year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician or in healthcare/medical - nursing/patient care preferred
- BLS certification required
- Certified Anesthesia Technician preferred
The Clinical Anesthesia Technician must possess physical capabilities to perform the job's essential functions, including:
- Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Coping with mental and emotional stress associated with the position
- Operating office machines safely and in accordance with hospital Safety Standards
- Pushing patients on stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds from one area to another
The Clinical Anesthesia Technician works in a well-lighted/ventilated office/clinical setting, subject to frequent interruptions, long hours, changing shifts, and may be required to work beyond normal working hours when requested to do so. Routine occupational exposure to infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, noxious odors, latex, and/or musculoskeletal injuries may occur.
The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is needed for instances of exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes, and are supplied by the hospital.
