Job Description and Duties

As a Materials and Stores Supervisor at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of inventory and supplies. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials and supplies, ensuring that they are properly accounted for and utilized in accordance with established procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking and reporting on stock levels, inventory movements, and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely receipt and issuance of materials and supplies, including negotiating with vendors and suppliers.
  • Develop and implement effective inventory control procedures to minimize waste, reduce costs, and optimize storage capacity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve inventory-related issues and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • One year of experience in a stockroom or warehouse environment, preferably in a correctional facility or similar setting.
  • Or two years of experience in a storeroom or warehouse environment, with a focus on inventory management and control.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, as well as work in a fast-paced environment.
