Radiation Therapist

We're looking for a Radiation Therapist to apply ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from Radiation Oncologists. As a key member of our team, you'll deliver accurate and safe radiation therapy, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy with minimal supervision
• Check prescriptions, diagnoses, charts, and patient identification
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure their safety during treatment
• Prepare rooms and equipment for patients, following prescriptions and guidelines
• Transfer patients safely to treatment couches, taking care of catheters and IV drips
• Check daily treatment times and deliver prescribed doses
• Maintain patient markings and observe for unusual reactions and events
• Perform simulations, assist with tumor localization, and prepare immobilization devices
• Assist with dosimetry procedures and obtain weekly port films
• Participate in departmental quality assurance and quality improvement activities

• Satisfactory completion of a 24-month course in radiology technology and a 12-month course in radiation therapy technology
• Registered nurse with satisfactory completion of a 12-month course in radiation therapy technology
• Satisfactory completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in radiation therapy
• Current licensure as required by state or national authority and/or certification or board eligibility in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiology Technology
