Medical Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is a vital member of the healthcare delivery team at Choptank Community Health System, Inc. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The CMA will work closely with clinicians to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to our communities.
Key Responsibilities- Initial Patient Assessment and Health Data Collection: Collects health status data relevant to the patient's presenting problem in a continuous, systemic, and complete manner.
- Medication Reconciliation and Administration: Reconciles past medical information into current EHR system per protocol and administers medications as prescribed.
- Procedural Support: Assists clinicians during patient procedures and/or examinations, including pap smears, vaginal exams, and swabs.
- Documentation and Coding: Properly documents and completes ICD-10 and CPT coding for services administered during the patient visit.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicates effectively with members of the healthcare team to address patient questions and concerns.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program or the ability to obtain within two years of hire
- Certification must remain current during the entire course of employment
- Minimum six months experience preferred
