Key Responsibilities

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers nursing care to designated patients under the direct oversight of a Registered Nurse (RN) or another assigned supervisor. The LPN is responsible for collecting data through careful observation and communicating vital information to assist the RN and/or healthcare provider in patient evaluation and care planning. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the LPN collaborates with the RN and other providers to address the needs of patients and their families. Care is provided in alignment with the established patient care plan, organizational policies, and the principles of relationship-based care. The LPN is expected to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, mentor and instruct others, and may engage in committees or projects, including quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Completion of a practical nursing program or successful passage of the LPN Boards after a specified duration in a professional nursing curriculum is required. If graduation occurred more than two years ago, a minimum of one year of relevant LPN experience is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one year of LPN experience within the past five years is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Experience in a collaborative team setting is advantageous. Proficiency in computer skills is required, with prior experience in electronic medical record systems being a plus. Flexibility to work daytime hours may be necessary to accommodate staffing needs. The ability to adapt to unpredictable circumstances in the workplace is crucial. Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program is preferred.

Licensure or Certification:

A current LPN license in accordance with state regulations is mandatory. In specific states, maintaining current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers is required. Additional specialty certifications or training may be necessary based on the work area.

Compensation Details

Hourly rate: $30.86

This is a full-time position with 12-hour shifts from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Flexibility to float to various locations may be required to meet patient care demands.

Weekend Requirements

Work every third Saturday and two holidays each year.
