POSITION SUMMARY
  • Delivers direct patient care to individuals in medical, surgical, and cardiovascular units requiring advanced monitoring. Responsibilities include operating sophisticated medical apparatus such as central lines, A-lines, multiple IVs, balloon pumps, Impella pumps, and managing patients needing Ventilation Support or Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy. Additionally, care is provided for general medical and surgical patients within the inpatient unit. The role requires the ability to assess and implement established protocols with minimal oversight. Acts as a clinical mentor and aids in the training of new staff. Responsible for comprehensive patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning. Provides guidance to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, housekeeping, and dietary staff while receiving direction from providers, charge nurses, supervisors, and the Chief Nursing Officer.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduation from an accredited RN Degree Nursing Program is mandatory.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in an advanced Medical/Surgical Unit and recent Critical Care Nursing, particularly in cardiovascular surgery, is essential.
  • Experience with Impella and/or other cardiac balloon pumps and CRRT is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Cardiac Surgical ICU is strongly preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
  • Current RN Licensure in the State of Montana, BLS, and ACLS are required.
  • Completion of PALS courses within six months of hire and renewal as required.
  • EPNC and TNCC certifications are preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Proficient in Advanced Nursing Principles and Procedures.
  • Ability to utilize basic office equipment and operate multiple IV pumps, along with advanced medical equipment including A-lines, invasive lines, and cardiac balloon pumps.
  • Competence in caring for patients requiring ventilatory support and those on CRRT.
