Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations.
  • Perform equipment service and repairs using test equipment, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and other power tools.
  • Fill out various required reports and documentation, including work orders, inspection forms, discrepancy sheets, logbooks, and service forms.
  • Perform installations, repairs, and maintenance on all utility distribution throughout the facilities.
  • Perform repairs to buildings, structures, production equipment, and portable production support equipment in facilities.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge to quickly diagnose failures.
Requirements
  • This position requires a high school education and a trade school certificate in mechanical training or equivalent work experience performing mechanical repairs.
  • Preferably, the candidate will have specialized training (such as diesel engines, automated equipment, etc.) and/or equivalent work experience in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing systems in a production environment.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend schematics, diagrams, piping plans, and other manufacturer-supplied documentation.
  • Must understand and be willing to follow safety protocols and procedures.
  • The ability to fabricate using cutting is preferable, but is not required.
  • Must have the ability to use measuring equipment such as tape measures, rulers, dial indicators, calipers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, and similar.
  • Additionally, the ability to use basic hand tools as well as specialized tools - like gear pullers, hydraulic jacks, torque wrenches, impact wrenches, etc. is required.
  • Other desirable skills include precision measurement and alignment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, engine repair and overhaul, and equipment operation.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to work in varied whole body positions to perform needed repair work.
  • Must have the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces with limited visibility, and be able to work any shift.
  • Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions, hear warning signals, and read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations, and warnings.
Working Conditions

This position requires working outdoors more than 50% of the time with constant exposure to wind, water, heat, and moderate conditions. Exposure to fumes, odors, dust, gases, various climates and temperatures, and low ventilation conditions, all of which may cause discomfort and/or respiratory difficulties. Exposure to automated machinery, vibrations, and high levels of constant noise.
