Healthcare Assistant Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Healthcare Assistant to manage patient care through both active and passive therapy methods. This role includes performing diagnostic assessments and providing support in administrative tasks.

To excel as a Healthcare Assistant, you must handle sensitive patient information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong multitasking abilities while ensuring accuracy in all responsibilities. Exceptional customer service skills are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a supportive team environment.
  • Welcome and assist patients upon their arrival.
  • Prepare treatment areas prior to patient appointments.
  • Conduct initial assessments, including vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature.
  • Apply passive therapies to patients, including the setup of equipment.
  • Guide and support patients in active therapy exercises.
  • Maintain a clean and organized waiting area.
  • Handle incoming calls and respond to inquiries via email.
  • Process patient payments.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments.
  • Collect and document patient personal and medical information.
  • Verify insurance coverage and payment methods.
  • Present various payment options to patients.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels.
  • Provide coverage at other office locations as required.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Availability to work evenings.
  • Able to move quickly to assist patients as needed.
  • Reliable transportation for travel between locations.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in healthcare.
  • Experience in customer service, particularly in retail or hospitality, is advantageous.

Work Schedule:

Standard working hours will be established, including a lunch break.
